cs2coach Privacy Policy
Version 2026-10-06 · Applies during the open beta
cs2coach is an online demo review tool for CS2 teams and coaches. We process your personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Law of the People's Republic of China (PIPL) and other applicable laws and regulations. This policy explains what information we collect, what we use it for, where and for how long we keep it, and how you can access, correct and delete it. By registering you confirm that you have read and agree to this policy; if you do not agree, please do not register or upload demos.
1. Information we collect
- Account information: the email, password and nickname you provide when registering; the Steam account you choose to link (used to mark you in demos).
- The demos you upload and the results of processing them: a demo contains the game accounts, nicknames, positions and actions of every player in the match, including information about third parties who are not cs2coach users. Replay data, statistics and videos generated from demos fall into the same category. Before uploading, please make sure you have the right to use the demo.
- Content you create in a team: team name and logo, notes, @mentions, playlists, strat boards, filter presets.
- Usage: your main actions in the app (such as registering, joining a team, uploading, watching, bookmarking, activating a plan) and when they happened, used to understand how the product is used. We do not record keystrokes, do not track you across sites, and do not use any third-party analytics service.
- Payment information: when you subscribe online, the payment is handled by the payment provider Stripe. You give your card and other payment details directly to Stripe; we never see or store full card numbers. We keep the subscription's plan, billing period, currency, status and payment dates in order to activate and renew it.
- The country or region you sign in from: when you sign in, we work out your country or region from your IP address. It decides which region your videos and voice recordings are stored in and is shown on the Account page. Only the country or region is kept from this check, not the IP address.
- Basic information needed to run the service: the necessary network information generated when you access the service, used only to keep the service running properly and to prevent abuse, and kept for the minimum period required by law.
2. How we use it
- Providing the service: sign-in, team collaboration, processing and replaying demos, sending in-app notifications (such as @mentions, seats full, plan expiry, team disbanded).
- Sending email: only verification codes for registration and password recovery, plan expiry reminders, and notices that a team you belong to has been disbanded. We send no marketing email.
- Improving the product: we use aggregated usage data to measure activation, retention and demo processing success rates. It is not used for personalised advertising.
- Security and compliance: preventing abuse, handling complaints, and meeting legal obligations.
3. Where and how long we keep it
- Your account and data are kept in the EU: cs2coach's servers are in the European Union (Germany). Your account information, team content, the demo files you upload with their analysis results and replay data, and your usage are stored and processed there.
- Videos and voice recordings are stored in your region: the videos generated from demos and the voice recordings you upload are stored in the region that matches where you sign in from: mainland China for users in mainland China, the EU (Germany) for users in Europe, Singapore for users elsewhere in Asia, and the EU (Germany) for everyone else. The storage region is shown on the Account page. A team's videos are stored in the region of the member who requested them, and voice recordings in the region of whoever uploads them.
- Your information leaves your country or region: account information, demo files and analysis results are kept and processed in the EU; videos are produced on equipment located in mainland China, and demo files and videos are transferred between these regions for that purpose. For users in mainland China, this means that by using the service you provide this information outside the People's Republic of China. We ask for your separate consent to this when you sign up; if you don't agree, please don't sign up.
- Wherever your information is stored, we protect it to the standard set out in this policy. Your rights in section 5 apply in the same way, and you exercise them the same way.
- Original demo files: deleted automatically 30 days after upload on the Free plan and 90 days after upload on paid plans. The round and path data extracted from them is kept with the demo and is deleted when the demo is deleted or your account is deleted.
- Account information and team content: kept until you delete them or delete your account.
- Usage data: no longer linked to you once your account is deleted; only aggregated statistics that cannot identify an individual are kept.
4. Who can see it
- Members of the same team (including guests) can see that team's demos, notes, playlists and strat boards, as well as each other's nicknames and Steam accounts.
- We do not sell personal information and do not share it with third parties, except where required by law or to perform a service you have explicitly requested.
- To provide the service, we use providers of cloud computing, network delivery, email and payment processing (including providers abroad) to process data. They store and transmit data only on our instructions and may not use it for their own purposes. Online payments are handled by Stripe, which processes your payment information under its own privacy policy and keeps transaction records to prevent fraud and meet its legal obligations.
5. Your rights
- Access and correction: on the “Account” page you can view your email and Steam link and change your nickname and password; team admins can edit the team profile.
- Deleting content: team admins can delete demos, notes, playlists and strat boards. After you leave a team, the content you created there still belongs to the team.
- Deleting your account: you can delete your account at any time on the “Account” page. Your account information is then erased immediately and cannot be recovered; teams in which you are the only member are deleted together with all their demos; teams that still have other members are kept, and the notes and upload records you leave behind are attributed to “Deleted user”. If you are the only admin of a team, you must first appoint another admin; or ask to delete the team, and once every member (guests aside) has agreed, the team and all its data are deleted together with your account. The other members' accounts are not affected.
- Declining an updated policy: if you choose “Decline” on the prompt shown after sign-in and confirm, your account is deleted. Teams of which you are the only admin are disbanded at the same time, and all of their demos, notes, playlists and strat boards are deleted with them; the other members receive an in-app notification and an email, and their own accounts are not affected.
- Withdrawing consent: deleting your account withdraws your consent to this policy.
- If you are not a cs2coach user but appear in a demo uploaded by someone else: you can use the personal information deletion request to ask us to remove your game account identifier and nickname from the match data. We will reply within 15 business days.
6. Security
We take technical and organisational measures that meet industry standards to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration or loss, and we continuously manage compliance as laws and regulations require. If a personal information security incident occurs, we will promptly inform you and report to the competent authorities as required by law.
7. Minors
cs2coach is intended for adult players and coaches. Users under 18 should use it only with the consent of a guardian. We do not actively collect personal information from minors and will delete it if we find any.
8. Changes to this policy
When the policy changes, the version date at the top of the page is updated. For major changes you are prompted after signing in and must agree again before you can continue; if you do not agree, your account is deleted, with the consequences described in Section 5.
9. Contact us
