How long it takes and what to do when it fails
Each view takes about 1–2 minutes, longer when others are ahead of you. Failures are retried automatically; if it still fails you can render it again yourself.
One view takes about 1–2 minutes, so the five views of a round take a few minutes and ten take about twice that. The longer the round and the more videos are waiting ahead of yours, the longer it takes.
Checking progress
- In the 2D replay: the numbers on the “3D view” button in the bottom bar count the finished views of this round, 2/5 for example.
- In the 3D view: each window shows its own status and percentage.
Progress updates by itself. You don't need to refresh, and you don't need to keep the page open while you wait. When everything is done, whoever requested it gets a notification.
Statuses on a window:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Queued | Not started yet; other videos are being made first |
| Assigned, Downloading demo, Launching game, Recording, Encoding, Upload, Verifying | In progress, in this order |
| Waiting to retry | The last attempt didn't work; it will be tried again shortly |
| Re-rendering | This view is being rendered again |
| Render failed | Still unsuccessful after several attempts |
When it fails
A view that doesn't succeed is retried automatically, up to 3 attempts with a few minutes between them; meanwhile it says “Waiting to retry”. Only when all of them fail does it say “Render failed”, with the reason shown in the large window.
To try again yourself:
- In the 3D view, click the failed small window to move it into the large one.
- Click the circular-arrow button in the bottom bar.
- Confirm with “Render”.
If every view of a team failed, a generate button also appears in the bottom bar so you can redo the whole team.
Common cases
It says the original demo file was removed and videos can't be rendered Making videos needs the original demo file. Once it has been removed after the retention period, no new videos can be made; the ones you already have still play. See Retention and storage.
It says the demo hasn't finished processing Wait for the demo to be processed, then generate.
Stuck on “Queued” Other videos are ahead of yours, including other rounds your own team requested. Watch the 2D replay meanwhile; yours starts automatically when its turn comes.
The video exists but playback stutters or keeps spinning That's a playback problem. See Videos that won't play or are slow.
It keeps failing after several tries Send us the reason shown in the large window: contact us.
