Retention and storage

Raw demo files are removed automatically after a while; replays and analysis data stay. When storage runs out, delete old demos or upgrade.

The raw demo file you upload is kept for a limited time and then removed automatically. The replay and the analysis data stay, and you can keep watching as before.

How long the raw file is kept

PlanRaw demo kept for
Free…
Personal…
Team…

The count starts on the day of upload. When a paid plan ends and the team is back on Free, the Free number applies.

After the cleanup

The demo stays in the demo library, and none of this changes:

  • Opening the 2D replay and using the analysis tools — round filter, heatmap, stats and so on.
  • Notes and playlists that use the demo.
  • 3D view videos that were already generated.

What needs the raw file is no longer possible:

  • “Reprocess”, and the “First live round” repair option, which only takes effect after reprocessing.
  • Generating a repaired .dem.
  • Generating new 3D view videos.
If you want to keep a raw file for good, keep your own copy.

What counts towards storage

Every file the team uploads or generates: raw demos, replay data, 3D view videos and voice recordings. Space per plan: Free …, Personal …, Team ….

Usage is shown as “Storage” at the bottom of the sidebar and on the “Members & settings” page. Once you've used 80%, the bar in the sidebar turns red.

When you run out

New uploads are refused with a message that the team is out of storage. To free some up:

  1. Delete demos you no longer need: click “Delete” in the row's menu in the demo library. Admins can delete any demo, analysts only their own uploads. The replay data, the notes and the playlist entries of that demo go with it, and it can't be undone.
  2. Cancel unfinished uploads — they hold space too. Open the upload dialog and click “Discard” under “Unfinished uploads”.
  3. Leave “Keep the buy time at the start of each round” unticked on future uploads; it saves space.
  4. Upgrade the plan. See How the plans differ.

When a raw file is cleaned up at the end of its retention, the space it took is freed automatically.

Common cases

“Reprocess” is gone from the menu The demo's raw file has been cleaned up, or your role is player or guest.

The health report says the original file was removed Same reason: it expired. The replay is fine; you just can't export a repaired file any more.

Does deleting a demo affect others? Yes. The demo library is shared by the whole team, so the demo disappears for everyone.
