Videos that won't play or are slow
A spinner in the 3D view means the video is still loading, and the replay waits for it. If a window says “Render failed” or “No video yet”, render that video again.
A spinner that stays on the picture in the 3D view means the video hasn't loaded up to the current position yet: the replay stops and waits, then carries on by itself. For anything else, start with what the window says.
What the window shows
| Shows | Meaning | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| A spinner | The video is still loading. | Wait; playback continues once it has loaded. |
| A progress stage such as “Queued” or “Recording” | The video is still being generated. | Wait for it. See How long it takes and what to do when it fails. |
| Render failed | This video couldn't be generated. | Render it again — see below. |
| No video yet | No video has been generated for this player in this round. | Render it — see below. |
| Freeze time | The round isn't live yet; the video starts when it goes live. | Nothing — keep playing. |
| Dead, Round over | This player's video ends here. | Nothing — click another small window to switch POV. |
Render a video again
- In the 3D view, click the small window of the player whose video is broken to bring them to the large view.
- Click the toolbar button “Re-render X's video for this round” (“Render X's video for this round” when there is none yet).
- Confirm and wait about 1–2 minutes. That window shows the progress meanwhile; the other POVs aren't affected.
Guests can't render. The new video replaces the old one.
Slow or stuttering playback
- After you drag the timeline or change rounds, the video has to load again from the new position. Wait for the spinner to go away before the next move; dragging repeatedly makes it slower.
- The large view loads ahead, while the small windows only load as playback reaches them, so it's normal for them to lag a little behind.
- The 2D replay of the same round doesn't depend on the videos, so you can click “Back to 2D” and watch that first.
No sound
- Only the large view has sound; the four small windows are always silent. To hear a player, click their small window to bring them to the large view.
- Check the video sound button on the toolbar: if it says “Unmute video”, the sound is off — click it.
- Team voice has its own button and is controlled separately from the video sound. See Voice sync.
Common cases
Clicking “3D view” shows a feature introduction instead The 3D view is included in …. See How the plans differ.
It says the original demo file was removed and the video can't be rendered The raw file is past its retention, so no new videos can be generated; the ones you already have still play. See Retention and storage.
