When processing fails

The demo library tells you why a demo failed. Look the reason up below — most are incomplete files or unsupported demo types.

Last checked 10/6/2026

When an uploaded demo can't be processed, its status in the demo library becomes “Failed”, with the reason next to it. Each reason is explained below.

Problems with the file

Not a valid CS2 demo

The file didn't download completely, or it isn't a demo. Download it again and upload it; if the platform gave you a compressed file, upload that as it is and don't rename its extension.

The archive is damaged or incomplete

The archive didn't download completely. Download it again, then upload.

No .dem file found in the archive

There is no demo in the archive. Make sure you packed the demo file itself, not something else or an empty folder.

No live match rounds found in the demo

The demo may contain warmup only, or the file is damaged. Run a check in “Repair demo” to see what exactly is missing.

Unsupported types

This is a player-recorded POV demo

Only GOTV demos are supported — the ones that record all ten players. Download the GOTV demo of the match from the platform or from HLTV.

This is a CS:GO demo

Only CS2 demos are supported.

Over the size limits

The unpacked demo is over the 4 GB limit

A single demo can't be larger than 4 GB once unpacked. This is rare — contact us if you hit it.

The archive has more than 10 demos

Split it into several archives of at most 10 demos each and upload them separately.

Anything else

If the reason starts with “Processing failed:” followed by some details:

  1. An admin or analyst can click “Reprocess” to try once more.
  2. If it fails again, click “Report this demo” next to the reason. We receive the demo's processing record, so you don't have to describe it again.
