Callouts, players, utility and exporting the strat
Every area of a map has a callout; a player pin can be a team member with a task and their utility; “Steps” lists who is where doing what per phase; export a PDF strat document and comment under the strat.
The strat board knows the areas of each map, so everything placed on it has a “where”: a player pin can be a specific team member doing a specific thing this phase and throwing specific utility. “Steps” on the right lists the whole strat phase by phase, and you can export it as a PDF document for the team.
Callout names
- Move the mouse over the map: the bottom-left corner shows the callout, and the area lights up.
- The pin button on the toolbar (or
N) writes every callout on the map; tiny areas (a ladder, a doorway) appear once zoomed in. - The Chinese interface shows the Chinese community's names; English, Russian and French show the English callouts (Palace, Connector). The two sets come from their own communities, not from translating each other.
The areas come from the game itself: the place name each player is in while a match demo is parsed (the same one the in-game radar shows), laid over the radar.
Player pins: who, doing what
Dropping a player pin opens its card; double-click an existing pin to open it again:
- Who: pick a team member (coach, analysts and players alike) or type a name. A member stays the same person through the later phases.
- Does what: Hold, Entry, Plant, Defuse, Trade, Utility, Lurk, Rotate, Anchor, Fake, Info — click to set; add a note underneath. Tasks are per phase, so they can differ from one to the next.
- Utility thrown this phase: the card lists their grenades; assign any unassigned grenade of the phase to them, or unassign one.
Select a player, then place utility: it is theirs. A thin thread links the player to the grenade and the thrower's name sits under it. One player can throw several grenades in a phase.
Utility from a round
When a strat came from a replay snapshot, or a demo round is linked under “Details”, click “Utility from round”: it lists each of our players in that round with the utility they really threw (landing spot, time), matches them to the pins on the board by Steam account or name (you can change the match), and on confirm places the grenades where they landed, in the phase of their throw time, assigned to the matching player.
Protocols and setups
Besides strategies in phases, the library holds two lighter kinds of entry:
- Protocol: a one-line rule (“no A ramp on pistol rounds”), not drawn on a map, pinned at the top of the library.
- Setup: fixed positions on one map, no phases — a CT default or a T opening.
The “Description” under “Details” says what the play is for and what to watch; it is printed at the top of the PDF.
Steps
“Only mine” at the top of the “Steps” column keeps just the lines of the pins set to you, for a quick look at your own tasks before a match; with it on, the PDF export contains only your part as well.
For every phase, each player with their callout, task, utility (and where it lands) and where they go next. Click a name to select the pin, double-click to open its card. Utility with no thrower is listed at the end of its phase.
Core phase and PDF export
The star at the right of the phase bar marks the current phase as the core phase — the moment the strat turns on (usually the execute, or when the utility lands). Without one, the export takes the phase with the most players and utility.
Top right of the page:
- PDF: opens the strat document's print view; use the browser's “Print → Save as PDF”. The document carries the cs2coach header and footer, shows the core phase's board only, and then writes every phase out line by line: who is at which callout, what they do, what they throw, where they go next.
- PNG: just the current phase's picture.
Comments
Under “Comments” on the right, any team member can discuss the strat (guests only read). Tick “About phase N” to tag a comment with a phase — clicking the tag jumps there; type @ to mention a teammate. The strat's author, the person replied to and anyone mentioned get a notification. A strat has to be saved before it can be commented on.
